Avocado Toast with Bacon

avocado toast with bacon

I must admit, avocado toast is absolutely delicious. I’ve always loved avocados, even as a kid, but never thought about putting it on toast and eating it for breakfast. After trying a few avocado toast recipes, I’m hooked.

What’s so amazing is that it doesn’t take any time and in the same amount of time it takes you to make a BLT, you could have a BLT with avocado.

I do like mashed avocado on my toast, but if you want the real experience, eat it with guacamole. There are so many ways you can eat avocado toast. I started out just putting mashed avocado on regular white bread.

I then tried it with tomatoes and a little drizzle of olive oil and it was very good. The best avocado toast recipe I’ve eaten thus far is the avocado toast with bacon and egg on sourdough. Although not as healthy as plain mashed avocado on whole grain, it’s something you have to try.

All you have to do is spread some fresh guacamole on toasted sourdough and top with an over medium egg and bacon. The runny egg, sourdough, bacon, and guac are amazing.

What is avocado toast?

Short and sweet, it’s a piece of toast loaded with mashed avocado or guacamole.  It’s good plain or you can make it better with ingredients like smoked salmon, tomato, chicken salad, or cooked eggs.

Is avocado toast healthy?

Avocado is healthy and so is guacamole.  The flesh of avocado contains healthy fats that are very good for your skin.  It’s not so healthy when you add bacon to it, but it’s a good choice if eating with chopped eggs, poached eggs, or salmon.

Is avocado toast good for dinner?

You can absolutely eat avocado toast for dinner.  I’ve eaten it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.  The perfect dinner avocado toast can have guacamole and either chicken salad or tuna salad.  It makes for a very delicious sandwich or eat it opened-faced.
